He believes himself to be one of the best fighters in the world, and seeking and challenging anybody who appears to be equally powerful as him. He had previously set his sights on Chrollo, the leader of the Phantom Troupe, finding him to be a worthy opponent which he would want to kill with relish. This interest however was lost when Chrollo was deprived the use of nen. Hisoka was member number four in the Phantom Troupe, though he only pretended to join in order to get closer to Chrollo. He hopes to fight Chrollo after having a nen eraser restore Chrollo's nen. He also developed an interest in Gon and Killua, and expects them to develop into worthy opponents.
